In a large blacked out space, over 150 voices create a spatial play through a range of languages, dialects, accents, pitch and timbre suggesting at their political and cultural identities and at times creating a cacophony.
Cacophony is an adaptation for the web of a sound installation by Poulomi Desai which used live randomly generated multilayered voices. It was exhibited at the Mead Gallery Warwick as part of Fresh Masala in 2000.
This web project was commisioned by Mead Gallery Warwick and Moti Roti.
