18 artists and performers take over Usurp to play, process, pretend and ponder the possibilities…Think knitted origami cuts, 16mm flock techno drawing, stethoscopic installed beings and twisted sleeping beauties on the brink…

Sonic cocktails by Blue Daisy, Disinformation and Jadman interact with live heartbeat experiments by Sarah Fowler and participative installations by Alice Turner, Anush Ravi, Aoife Twomey, Diana Chire, Dilaksy Kandasamy, Katy O’Donovan, Natalie Leer, Reynir Hutber and Isabel and Sophia Mosely.

Fri 19 Nov 7pm ‘Thames Walks’ a 16mm screening and performance by James Holcombe and Adam Asnan, ‘Avaton’ (Anarchy,Democracy and other ways of Political Participation) by Ursula Dimitriou + other documentary films programmed by Aoife Twomey.
9pm to 10pm ‘Draw in the DJ’ Artists and Sound Makers go head to head in an improvised sound illustration clash creating moody large scale audio / aural drawings – Aleesha Nandra, Blue Daisy, Daniel Ackie and Natalie Leer

Sun 21 Nov 4pm to 7pm ‘U-Slurp’ tea and cameraless film workshop
Explore the hands-on artistic possibilities of painting, drawing and scratching directly onto 16mm movie film with James Holcombe of No-w-here and see films by some of the greatest exponents of artists’ cinema (Stan Brakhage, Len Lye and Man Ray)

Thurs 25 Nov 6.30pm to 10pm ‘Repercussions’
Twisted odes to Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, interactive live art with a Latvian homage to Hayley Newman and a stethoscopic insight into the artist as object – feel, view and participate – Alice Turner, Diana Chire, Katy O’Donovan, Lara Kenworthy, Linda Nagajeva,Laima Jansone, Daniel Tetlow, Kristaps Strods, Will & Luke, Sanna Kolehmainen, and Sarah Fowler

Fri 26 Nov 2pm to 6pm ‘Tightly Knit’ Film by Jenni Nelson (www.tightlyknitfilm.com)
Large-scale knitting and contorted crotchet using recycled materials, hosted by Aoife Twomey and Isabel Moseley with the Harrow Knitters

Sun 28 Nov 2pm to 8pm ‘Dusted’ Drop in to the gallery and celebrate the final results
Artists will be creating new works during the Usurp Arts Lab and at the launch in response to the audience, with ongoing documentation by Rich Watson and Alex Shaw forming part of the evolving exhibitions.
