POULOMI DESAI

"Poulomi's photographic/performance work has spanned over 15 years and been exposed in diverse locations from the seedy Dome Club in Tufnell Park to the white-washed walls of the Photographers Gallery, from Calcutta to New York, Derby to Dhaka, Southall to Slough, libraries, after hour drinking clubs, museums, fetish nights and women-only tents.

She is always finding her feet and looking at her arms out of control, nodding to many ideas, theories, performances, puppets and animations, sounds, writings, web postings in an everburgeoning global cacophony. But one thing still reverbates, a recognition of her/historical political identity and environment based on those 'isms' that are just so un-cool right now...........". (Zouk - Creation Rebel)
