TEEN AGE

Cathy Ward

Cathy Ward transforms the gallery space into an ethereal parlour of symbol-laden landscapes.

Her mysterious drawings and installations of convoluted masses of hair create evocations of that which is hidden, plucked out and forbidden. An aspect of Cathy Ward’s eclectic practice for over 20 years is to have enveloped herself in lingering memories through the tangible remnants of our shared shed selves – that material of keratinised protein fibres. Ward treasures and rejoices in its abundance, will to live, and its memorable significance.
